New Ford Everest challenges Santa's reindeer-drawn sleigh

Ford Everest

A reindeer-drawn sleigh may help Santa Claus when he’s coming to town, but what if he needs to venture further afield?

With its incredible, go-anywhere off-road and on-roof performance, impressive cargo and towing capabilities, smart technology, and a refined, comfortable passenger cabin for up to seven overgrown elves, the new Ford Everest is the perfect replacement for Santa’s antiquated and cervine-dependent delivery system.

"We contacted Santa Claus early in the product development process for his input on an ideal sleigh replacement," said Ian Foston, chief program engineer for the Ford Everest. "The new Ford Everest will not only help him to go further this Christmas, but may also finally give Dasher and Dancer their first break in more than 190 years."

Features that set the new Ford Everest apart from a normal sleigh include:

Ford Everest

Rugged off-road design: No delivery is off-limits with 225 mm of ground clearance and the ability to wade through water up to 800 mm deep. A 29-degree approach angle and 25-degree departure angle make tackling steep rooftops a breeze.

Ford Everest

Terrain Management System: With the simple turn of a dial, Santa can choose one of four smart terrain settings to optimize throttle response, transmission, the four-wheel-drive system and traction control for delivery of presents in any climate or terrain.

Ford Everest

Flexible cargo capacity: The new Ford Everest outclasses a sleigh with up to 2,010 liters of cargo when its second- and third-row seats are folded flat. If Santa wants company on his busy night, the new Ford Everest can accommodate up to seven occupants in comfort, and still pack in an additional 750 kg of cargo.

Ford Everest

Strong towing capability: The new Ford Everest puts reindeer to shame with a present-towing capability of 3,000 kg - nearly three times the capability of a nine-reindeer team. Or ditch the presents and take up to 14 fully grown reindeer for the ride of their lives.

Ford Everest

Auto High Beam: Who needs Rudolph’s nose when Auto High Beam control automatically activates the high beams as necessary? Using a front-mounted camera, Auto High Beam control also dims the headlamps when it recognizes light sources like traffic and street lights.

"In extensive testing, the new Ford Everest vastly outperformed a reindeer-drawn sleigh in every benchmark, from off-road performance and passenger comfort to lichen consumption," said Foston. "Giving Santa the ability to deliver more presents more easily than ever before, the new Ford Everest will truly make this a Christmas to remember."
