Onyx Concept Range Rover Evoque Rouge Edition


Onyx Cars has just revealed a new tuning package for the Range Rover Evoque.

Called the Rouge Edition, the conversion consists of a front bumper, rear bumper, wider arches, new side panels, wide body wheel arch flairs and a sil package fitted next to a series of carbon fiber attachments. There's also a redesigned vented bonnet, side skirts, carbon fiber front grille, side air vents and exterior pillars.

Inside, the cabin gets a full carbon fiber sixteen-piece interior set featuring dash bezels, a carbon fiber flat bottom steering wheel and seating upholstered in Nappa leather.

As for the tech story, the Irish tuner has fitted a lowering suspension and three new forged wheels. A power upgrades for both petrol and diesel engines will also be available, but this hasn’t been released yet.

The complete package will be presented in about four weeks time with their first ten cars nearing completion. The first two cars will be sent to the UK while the rest will be sent to Los Angeles, Beijing, Shanghai and Moscow dealers for official launches over the next six to eight weeks.

Roding Roadster coming to Geneva


Roding Automobile has announced it will introduce the Roding Roadster at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show on March 6.

According to the carmaker, the model is a two seat mid-engine sports car and features a fiberglass body, a carbon fiber reinforced plastic chassis and a removable roof. Thanks to its lightweight design, the total curb weight is kept low at 950 kg.

The Roadster is powered by a BMW turbocharged six-cylinder engine with 320 hp and 450 Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which sends power to rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. Deliveries are scheduled to begin right after the Geneva Motor Show.

Volvo V40 official photos leaked


Two official images of the Volvo V40 have recently been leaked via a Polish magazine's Facebook page, ahead of its official debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show on March 6.

As you can see, the upcoming V40 has a front that combines elements from the S60 sedan (especially up front and at the rear end) and the C0, while its overall exterior lines are bringing the hatchback a design closer than its future competitors, like the BMW 1-Series and the Audi A3 Sportback.

Details are limited, but it will most likely replace the current three-door C30 and hit the dealerships later this year.

1,200 HP Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse revealed


Bugatti has recently revealed the Veyron Sport Vitesse, the world’s fastest roadster, ahead of its official debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.

According to the carmaker, the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse the Grand Sport Vitesse is essentially a mix between the Grand Sport (roadster) and Super Sport. It comes with the body structure of the Grand Sport, while the visual appearance and performance are closer to the Super Sport, which holds the current world speed record of 431km/h (268 mph).

The Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse borrows the engine from the Super Sport, which means it gets a 16-cylinder engine with larger turbos and intercoolers, which delivers a total output of 1,200 hp at 6,400 rpm and 1,500 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm. The chassis has also been modified to support the power increase. However, the performance details are still to be revealed.

In a press statement, Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer said “The rapid success of the Super Sport convinced us to increase the performance of the Bugatti roadster. Once again our engineers worked hard to demonstrate that Bugatti is able to constantly redefine the boundaries of what is technically feasible. We gave our all to transfer the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport, thereby turning open-top driving itself into an extraordinary experience at high speed”.

Artega GT Roadster coming to Geneva 2012


Germany’s Artega has announced plans to introduce the convertible version of its GT at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next month.

Like the hardtop version, the Artega roadster will be powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine. The performance specs have not been confirmed yet, but it will have around 300 hp and need around 4.8 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint.

Pricing is still unknown but the Artega GT has a starting price of around €75,000.

McLaren MP4-12C Toxique Evil by Wheelsandmore


German tuner Wheelsandmore has recently presented a new upgrade package for the McLaren MP4-12C.

Called the Toxique Evil, the package include a full-length body stripe, a 25 mm reduced ride height and 20- / 21-inch forged alloy wheels, painted in black and orange and wrapped in Continental Sport Contact 5P tires size 245/30/20 at the front and 325/25/21 at the rear axle.

As for the power boost, thanks to a sports exhaust system and a remapped ECU, the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine is now produces 666 hp and 640 Nm of torque - an increase of 66 hp and 40 Nm. In addition, Wheelsandmore is testing a turbo and intercooler upgrade up to 800 hp.




BMW M3 Coupe Competition Edition for Singapore


BMW Asia has announced a special edition of the M3 Coupe, named the Competition Edition.

Built to celebrate 40 years of the company’s M Division, the special edition will only be available in Frozen Silver Metallic exterior paint with a deep metallic finish. The exterior accents include dark chrome kidney grille, black hood-mounted air intakes, M side gills, exhaust pipe tips and the 19-inch rims from the M3 GTS.

Inside, the cabin comes with black Novillo leather, Alcantara wrapped steering wheel, a M3 Chekered Flag logo on the door sills and some carbon trim on the dashboard and center console.

For performance, the BMW M3 Coupe Competition Edition has been equipped with a 10 mm lowered ride height, a set of M3 GTS 19-inch rims that come with a wider offset for enhanced stability, a modified Electronic Damper Control, as well as for the M Dynamic mode.

Power will be provided by a 4.0-liter V8 engine with 414 horsepower, mated to an M DCT double clutch transmission. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

Only 450 BMW M3 Coupe Competition Editions will be produced and Singapore will receive eight units.









VIDEO: 2013 Nissan Pathfinder teased


Nissan has recently released a new promotional video for the 2013 Pathfinder.

The clip shows the production model during testing sessions that took place in Colorado, Idaho and Wyoming. As part of the process, engineers took the crossover off-roading, through creeks and into snowy terrain, in order to make it better than its predecessor. Lastly, the engineers were pleased with the result.

As we have previously reported, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder will be launched this fall and uses a unibody architecture. It is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine which will be mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This will enable the car to be one of the most fuel-efficient seven-passenger vehicles on the market.

 

Toyota Aygo Fire & Ice special editions for the UK


Toyota has announced plans to offer two new special editions of its Aygo city car in the United Kingdom.

First up, the Aygo Fire comes with rear privacy glass, LED daytime running lights, fog lights and 14-inch alloy wheels. There's also a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a rev counter and unique interior trim and an option for the Burnt Orange paint finish.

Next, the Aygo Ice is focused on luxury and comfort, with leather and Alcantara upholstery, air conditioning, a more powerful four-speaker sound system that is DAB-ready and Bluetooth/USB connectivity.

Both models are powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with 67 hp and 93 Nm of torque.

The 2012 Toyota Aygo arrives in showrooms in March. The Aygo Fire will start at £9,595, while the Aygo Ice will cost £9,895.

2013 Infiniti JX goes into production


 Infiniti has announced it has started production on the 2013 JX in the United States.

According to the Japanese carmaker, the crossover will be assembled at the Smyrna vehicle assembly plant in Tennessee and has a starting price of $40,450 for the JX35 FWD and $41,550 for the JX35 AWD. Deliveries are scheduled to begin early next month and consumers can place reservations through the company's website.

As we have previously reported, the 2013 Infiniti JX is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 265 hp at 6,400 rpm and 336 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. It is mated to a sport-tuned CVT, allowing the crossover to achieve 21 mpg in the FWD and 20 mph in the AWD models.
