Mercedes-Benz recently brought the SLS AMG Electric Drive to the Ascari track in Spain. Lucky for us, a short video has been released on their YouTube channel.

Made its debut at the Paris Auto Show, the SLS AMG Electric Drive is the most powerful production car the German carmaker has ever launched. It has four electric motors with 740 hp and 1000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. This allows the supercar to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, hit a top speed of 250 km/h and travel 250 km on a single charge. The battery will take about 20 hours to charge from a 230-volt outlet and about three hours with a quick charger.

The SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive will go on sale in 2013. The price in Germany starts at €416,500 ($538,500), including 19% VAT.
