Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 Unveiled

In preparation for the 2012 season, Aston has officially announced Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 (the racing version) to replace the DBRS9.

The new Vantage GT3 relatively light weight at only 1,250 kg, enough to compete with other rivals. The car is equipped with 6.0-liter V12 engine, capacity of 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) and 700 Nm of torque (516 lb-ft). This engine is combined with a semi-automatic gearbox, allowing the racer to easily control at different speeds.

"After six years of "battle", the DBRS9 has brought much success for Aston Martin, though it may continue to stand in the ranks of the team. However, competitor increasingly powerful, we need to create a new racing version based on predecessor model, along with the application of the most advanced technology and Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 is the hope of the company in coming years."John Gaw, managing director Aston Martin Racing said.

The first Vantage GT3 is expected to be built in July and will be tested thoroughly. After successful results, Aston Martin will build more cars to start the 2012 season.
