BMW Compete With Mercedes and Porsche

Director of BMW's development, Klaus Draeger has announced, BMW will launch the Grand Coupe Concept, the 4-door coupe to compete with the Mercedes and Porsche in next time.


Specifically, BMW expected launch the Grand Coupe pitted against rivals such as Mercedes CLS, the upcoming Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera.

As expected, the Grand Coupe will the first debut at the 2011 Beijing Motor Show. However, Mr. Draeger has only revealed that the production version will have a design similar the 6-series. Even the technology used on the cars and prices will have similarities with the 6-series coupe. So, the Grand Coupe will cost at about 70,450 ($ 93,560) such as the starting price of the 6-series in Germany at the present time.

Although not known, the Grand Coupe using hybrid technology or not, but Draeger confirmed that they will consider releasing to add a hybrid version of the Grand Coupe.

The Grand Coupe will officially run on all roads in 2012, after BMW releasing the  6-series coupe two-doors in next year.
