Hyundai makes EV charging more accessible throughout Europe

Hyundai has announced a cooperation with &Charge, which aims to make EV charging more accessible throughout Europe.

As part of the cooperation, Hyundai becomes one of the first car manufacturers to use the unique &Charge service. This will enable its customers and Charge myHyundai users to reduce their costs by charging their Hyundai EV for free. The service will be available in five European markets: Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the UK.

Hyundai customers can collect bonus points via "&Charge Kilometres" that can be used in Charge myHyundai app for free public EV charging

Hyundai customers will be able to earn bonus points in the form of "&Charge Kilometres" - EV charging credits in the &Charge app - by providing feedback on charging stations and the charging experience. Those points can then be redeemed for vouchers that can be used for free public charging in the Charge myHyundai app. Additionally, this collected feedback will improve the overall quality of the EV charging infrastructure.

The new partnership represents an important milestone for both companies, as the simple and convenient integration of public charging into everyday life is a crucial factor for boosting the acceptance of e-mobility.

Since its market launch in 2019, &Charge has established the first sustainable bonus program for e-mobility in Europe, built a strong community of EV drivers and laid the foundation for its crowd-sourcing approach.

In addition to its sustainable bonus program, in which customers across Europe can shop in over 1,500 partner online stores and collect "&Charge Kilometres" in return, &Charge has established a unique gamification approach and enables a social experience to ensure frequent user feedback around EV charging.

Users of the &Charge app can deliver real-time feedback on individual charging stations and the charging experience they offer to ensure the well-functioning and reliable public charging infrastructure that is crucial for the overall success of e-mobility. This crowd-sourced data can then help Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to detect any faults and improve the service at their own charging stations even more rapidly.

By providing feedback, Hyundai customers will be able to collect bonus points in the form of "&Charge Kilometres" in the partner app &Charge. These points can then be redeemed for vouchers for Charge myHyundai, which can then be used for free public charging.
