Mazda CX-9 adds new rear seat entertainment system accessory

Sure to satisfy rear-seat passengers on short jaunts and cross-country vacations, alike, Mazda has announced the availability of its new Rear Seat Entertainment System (RSES) accessory kit for the 2016-18 CX-9 in the U.S.

RSES can be retrofitted to all 2016, 2017 and 2018 CX-9s as a dealer-installed accessory. It will also come in select 2018 CX-9 as a port-installed item.

RSES features: dual 8-inch LCD monitors, single CD/DVD player, USB 2.0 and SD card inputs, HDMI ports for wired device connections, two IR-type wireless headphones, 5mm stereo headphone output, and two remote controls.

Because video data can come from multiple sources via USB, SD, CD/DVD or HDMI, the monitors are able to play different content simultaneously, or both monitors can display the same content. On the safety front, Mazda’s RSES has undergone rigorous testing, passing all evaluations in accordance to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

RSES is available now and carries a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $1,995.
