2016 Ford Focus RS sells for $550,000

A one-of-a-kind 2016 Ford Focus RS sold for a whopping $550,000 with no reserve at a charity auction, with all proceeds benefitting JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.

The winning bidder, Ron Pratte, lays claim to the very last 2016 Focus RS bound for North America in mid-summer. The vehicle will be the only 2016 Focus RS in North America wearing Ford’s unique Magnetic gray paint color.

Pratte is a regular name in the car collecting and auction world, known for his lavish assortment of automobiles spanning all generations, makes and models.

Pratte’s generosity also inspired others while they attended the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, JDRF accepted an additional $10,000 donation, bringing the total to $560,000.

Together, Ford and Barrett-Jackson have raised more than $8 million at various auctions benefiting local and national charities over the years.
