Geely Auto’s flagship sedan, the GC9, is set to launch at a high key event on December 15 in Beijing’s Water Cube.
The GC9 was crafted by Geely’s Chief Designer, Peter Horbury, along with his new global development team which is based in Gothenburg, Barcelona, Shanghai and Los Angeles. It represents the targets and goals of ‘New Geely’ which is focusing on creating higher value vehicles with greater levels of luxury and a global design language.
Powertrains for the GC9 include a 2.4L naturally aspirated engine, a 1.8L direct injection turbo and a flagship 3.5L V6 engine, all vehicles will be paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox from Geely’s Australian subsidiary Drivetrain Systems International (DSI).
The GC9 is based upon the KC concept which first aired at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show and has grown into the leading domestic Chinese sedan. The Geely GC9 will be officially shown at the Geely Brand Night which starts at 8pm on December 15 at the Beijing Water Cube.
