An online update including the Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo (VGT), introduced at this year’s Los Angeles International Auto Show, is available today worldwide for fans of the PlayStation 3 racing game, Gran Turismo 6.
Developed by Chevrolet’s Advanced Design team with direct input from Chaparral founder Jim Hall, the racecar concept was developed exclusively for the Vision Gran Turismo project, which celebrates the future of automotive design and innovation.
Its concept propulsion system features a mid-mounted laser beamed-energy propulsion system, which pulses beams of light that focus in a shroud, creating shock waves that generate 900 hp worth of thrust. It will be capable of a 0-60 mph acceleration in 1.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 240 mph.
