Bentley SUV could wear the Bentayga nameplate

According to Dutch media, Bentley has recently trademarked the "Bentayga" moniker which could be used for their upcoming crossover.

The name is derived from a rock formation found in Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands (Canaries), a Spanish archipelago located off the coast of Morocco.

Set to go on sale in 2016, the Bentley SUV is expected to ride on the MLB Evo platform and will be offered with three engines, including a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo, a 6.0-liter W12 and a plug-in hybrid version confirmed for 2017.

In terms of pricing, Bentley's chief Wolfgang Dürheimer has already said the company's first SUV will cost more than £130,000.
