Mazda CX-3 teased ahead of Los Angeles debut

Mazda has recently released the first teaser image of the CX-3, ahead of its public debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show next month.

According to the Japanese carmaker, the CX-3 is the fifth vehicle in Mazda’s lineup of new-generation products that feature the full range of SkyActiv technology and Kodo - Soul of Motion design. In pursuing a design of beauty and sophistication, the essence of Kodo - the expression of life within a vehicle - has been evolved to produce a sharper form with an enhanced sense of speed.

The CX-3 is expected to be heavily based on the Mazda2, so engine options could include:
  • A 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G with 75 hp and 135 Nm of torque
  • A 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G with 90 hp and 148 Nm of torque
  • A 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G i-ELOOP with 115 hp and 148 Nm of torque
  • A 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-D with 105 hp and 220 Nm of torque
