According to a new report from Autocar, Kia is currently considering production versions of the GT and GT4 Stinger concepts.

First, the production version of the GT concept could be launched in late 2016 and will likely serve as the company's flagship model. It could use the concept's 3.3-liter V6 turbo engine which produces 395 hp and 534 Nm of torque, with the power being sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, the production GT4 Stinger will feature a smaller 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine with 320 hp and a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox. If Kia goes ahead with the GT4 Stinger, it will be more important for sales because it will be cheaper than the GT. According to Kia UK boss Paul Philpott, the GT4 Stinger will compete with the Mazda MX-5.
