Lamborghini CEO hints Urus concept will go into production

In a recent interview in Tokyo, Lamborghini CEO has revealed a production version of the Urus concept is being developed.

Speaking to Automotive News, Stephan Winkelmann said "We’re working on it and it will come, which will be good for the brand. We’re going low profile now. I can’t tell you much on details now, but when we get close to the launch, we will have more."

The Lamborghini Urus could come to market in 2016 or 2017 and is expected to ride on the MLB Evo platform which will be shared with the next Audi Q7,
Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Falcon and Volkswagen Touareg.

The Italian supercar maker also hopes to sell around 3,000 units annually if the Urus is built, with a particular focus in China, the United States, Russia, Europe and the Middle East.
