MG5 sedan in the works

According to a report from Car News China, SAIC is currently developing a sedan version of the MG5.

The model will be based on the Roewe 350 sedan and launched next year. The styling could be influenced by the MG5 hatchback, but it will come with a much sportier lines.

Motivation is expected to be provided by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine which produces around 127 hp and 199 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission which will be produced at SAIC's facility in Anting, near Shanghai.

No word on whether the MG5 sedan will be offered in Europe or not, but Chinese pricing is expected to start around 90.000 yuan.
