Aston Martin is marking its centenary by the introduction of the Rapide S today at the 83rd Geneva International Motor Show. It is described as the world’s most beautiful and beautifully balanced four-seat sports car.

Essentially a replaced or refreshed version of the outgoing Rapide, the S variant is distinguished by a reworked front fascia which complies with pedestrian safety regulations. There's also a slightly redesigned rear fascia, a revised hood, a one-piece grille and 20-inch alloy wheels.

The interior also receives some minor updates including a leather sports steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats with side airbags, a satellite radio system and a 1000-watt Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system.

Under the hood, the Rapide S is powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.0-liter V12 engine which creates 558 hp and 620 Nm of torque - an increase of 81 hp and 20 Nm. This allows the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 305 km/h. In terms of efficiency, it averages 19.9 mpg UK (16.5 mpg US or 14.1 L/100 km) with CO2 emissions of 332 g/km.
