Toyota's motorsports partner Gazoo Racing has officially introduced the GRMN Sports FR Concept Platinum at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon.

Based on the Toyota 86, the concept is inspired by the legendary Supra and has a new front end with different headlamps, bumper and vented hood, while the rear end gets slim taillights, a bumper with a diffuser, quad exhaust tips and a refreshed boot lid hosting a generous wing. It also comes with bigger vented front/rear fenders, a sport-tuned suspension, high-performance brakes and 18-inch BBS alloy wheels wrapped in tires size 245/40 front and 265/35 rear tires.

Inside, the cabin features a full roll cage, a race style steering wheel and stitched two-tone leather racing seats with four-point seat belts, along with other modifications.

Under the hood, the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine has been equipped with a supercharger, a turbocharger and other improvements. This could allow it to develop 330 hp and 431 Nm of torque - an increase of 130 hp and 226 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox with a mechanical limited slip differential.
