Kia has officially released the first photos and technical details of the 2013 pro_cee'd GT, ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Described as the company's "most performance-focused production car ever", the model will feature an aggressive body kit with a new front bumper, larger air intakes, beefier side skirts and a honeycomb grille with a GT badge. There's also LED headlamps, a black roof and 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake calipers.

Inside, the cabin comes with Recaro sports seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and aluminum pedals.

Motivation is provided by a 1.6-liter GDI turbocharged engine that develops 201 hp and 265 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox, which allows the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

Set to go on sale in the UK in late summer, the 2013 pro_cee'd GT will go into production in mid-May at Kia's Zilina plant located in Slovakia. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
