Honda has recently announced the new Civic hatchback, which is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel, will be presented at the 2012 Paris Motor Show on September 29, along with the 2013 CR-V, EV-Ster Concept electric roadster and the 2013 CR-Z Hybrid Coupe facelift.

Following the North America Accord's 2.4-liter petrol engine, the new 1.6-liter i-DTEC is the first engine in the Old Continent to get the Honda's "Earth Dreams Technology". It produces an output of 118 hp at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm at 2,000 rpm.

According to the Japanese carmaker, the model burns 3.6-liter of fuel every 100 km with CO2 emission of 94 g/km.
