Peugeot 4008 SUV revealed


After the presentation of the 208 XY and 208 GTI concepts, Peugeot has recently revealed the 4008, ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Set to go on sale initially in international markets from May, the crossover is actually based on the Mitsubishi ASX platform (known as the Outlander Sport in the U.S. and RVR in Japan and Canada). It measures 4,340 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,630 mm tall, with a 2,670 mm long wheelbase.

Under the hood, the 4008 is available with a choice of four engines. The diesel lineup includes a 1.6-liter HDi with 115 hp and 270 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, and a larger 1.8-liter HDi developing 150 hp and 300 Nm, matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol lineup includes a 1.6-liter engine with 115 hp and 152 Nm, connected to a five-speed manual transmission, and a 2.0-liter with 150 hp and 198 Nm, linked to a 5-speed manual or a CVT.

The 1.6-liter petrol engine will be the only version to come with two-wheel drive, while all the other engines are offered with all-wheel drive as an option.

The Peugeot 4008 will be distributed to more than 50 countries around the world starting from Russia and Ukraine, and markets like Australia, New Zealand, China, Europe.
