Subaru has announced plans to offer a special edition of the Impreza WRX in Japan.
Called the STI S206, the limited edition is distinguished by a lower front spoiler, a revised grille, ventilated fenders and 19-inch BBS lightweight wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. In addition, the NBR Challenge Package adds a carbon roof, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, black BBS wheels and S206 Nürburgring Challenge sticker (rear).
Inside, the cabin has a pair of Recaro racing seats, gloss black trim, red seat belts and S206 sill plates.
Thanks to an optimized ECU, upgraded pistons and a high-performance crankshaft, the 2-liter 4-cylinder engine is now develops 320 hp and 431 Nm of torque - an increase of 19 hp and 25 Nm over the standard WRX STI.
Only 300 units will be produced, but there's no word on pricing.
