Ford’s July sales soar 91 percent in Vietnam

Ford Vietnam has announced July retail sales that soared 91 percent to 1,307 units - it’s second highest-ever monthly total in Vietnam. The exceptional month helped Ford capture its highest-ever monthly share of the Vietnam market of 10.4 percent - a 3.1 percentage point increase from the same month last year.

Driving Ford’s overall July sales were record monthly sales performances from the Ranger and Transit, terrific initial response the all-new EcoSport, as well as continuing demand for the Fiesta and Everest nameplates.

"Our monthly record performances are being driven by terrific customer response to our growing lineup of segment-leading Ford vehicles in Vietnam, which now includes the all-new EcoSport," said Jesus Metelo Arias, managing director, Ford Vietnam.

"The product-led transformation of our business continues to build momentum with each new global Ford vehicle that we introduce," he added.

The class-defining Ranger delivered an all-time record month in Vietnam with July sales surging 261 percent to 419 units. With year-to-date sales increasing 161 percent to 2,062 units, the Ranger is the best-selling pickup truck in Vietnam.

The Ford Transit also delivered a record monthly performance with retail sales climbing 70 percent to 337 units. Year-to-date sales of the Transit have risen 120 percent to 2,048 units, helping it remain the best-selling vehicle in Vietnam’s commercial van segment.

In its first month of availability, the all-new EcoSport is living up to expectations for defining a whole new vehicle segment - the compact, urban SUV - delivering retail sales of 269 units.

Driven by strong demand for its powerful 1.0L EcoBoost engine, the trendy Fiesta contributed to Ford’s record month with sales of 95 units. Year-to-dates sales of the Fiesta have increased 52 percent year-over-year to 774 units.

The Fiesta’s 1.0L EcoBoost engine, which was recently named International Engine of the Year for the third consecutive year, delivers the power and performance of a traditional 1.6L engine with class-leading fuel economy and emissions levels.
