Jaguar has officially unveiled the F-Type Project 7, ahead of its debut at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 26.

Created by the company's Special Operations division, "the fastest and most powerful production Jaguar ever created" features a green exterior with larger mirrors and a carbon fiber rollover hoop on the passenger side. There's also a shorter windscreen and an aerodynamic body kit which enables the car to produce 177 percent more downforce than the F-Type convertible at 299 km/h.

Motivation is provided by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine which produces 567 hp. It is mated to an eight-speed Quickshift transmission that allows the 1,585 kg car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and hit an electronically-limited top speed of 300 km/h.

It is also fitted with standard carbon ceramic matrix brakes and torque vectoring by Braking. With bespoke carbon-fiber aerodynamic aids and beefier front suspension knuckles, the F-Type Project 7 promises an engaging driving experience.

Production will reportedly be limited to just 250 units, with deliveries scheduled for the mid-2015.
