2013 Mercedes Benz GLK Diesel for U.S. market

In a recent interview with Automotive News, Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Steve Cannon has confirmed the 2013 GLK will be offered with a diesel engine, when it is launched in the U.S. this fall

Additional infomation is limited, but previous reports have suggested the car will be powered by a 2.1-liter four-cylinder diesel from the GLK250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, allowing it to produce 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque.

Diesel sales are likely to push GLK sales into the "high 30,000" from 24,310 last year, Cannon said.
