2012 Honda CR-V unveiled in Japan


Yesterday, Honda has announced that the 2012 CR-V would go on sale at dealerships in Japan on December 2.

According to the carmaker, The new CR-V will be offered in Japan in two flavors, the 20G and the 24G. The base front-wheel drive 20G comes with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 150 hp at 6,200 rpm and 191 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm, mated to a CVT. It returns 14.4 km/l on the Japan's JC08 cycle (33.9 mpg US or 6.9lt/100km).

Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive 24G is powered by a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with 190 hp at 7,000 rpm and 222 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, matched to a five-speed automatic transmission. It returns a fuel economy of 11.6 km/l on the same Japanese cycle (27.3 mpg or 8.6 l/100 km).

The 2012 Honda CR-V will start at ¥2,480,000 for the base 20G and ¥2,750,000 for the 24G.
