2013 Seat Toledo starts at £12,495 in the UK

Seat has announced the 2013 Toledo will have a base price of £12,495 when it goes on sale in the UK on December 1st.

Offered in three trim levels (E, S and SE), the fourth generation Toledo has a large 550 liter boot and big comfy seats for four passengers inside the cabin. It is available with a wide array of engines. The petrol range includes 1.2-liter and 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged engines producing between 74 hp and 121 hp. Meanwhile, diesel options will include a 1.6-liter TDI with 105 hp and 89 hp from 2013.

Standard features for the entry-level E include 15-inch steel wheels, black door handles and wing mirrors, front electric windows, MP3 CD player with AUX-in, four speakers, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), driver and front passenger airbag, passenger airbag disconnect, front side and curtain airbags, front seatbelt reminders and ISOFIX points with Top Tether.

S trim adds body coloured door handles and mirrors, electric heated door mirrors, rear windscreen wiper, air conditioning, Bluetooth with voice control, USB port, remote audio controls, six speakers, trip computer, split folding rear seats, height-adjustable driver’s seat, sun visor mirrors, space saver spare wheel, alarm and remote central locking.

SE comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights with cornering, climate control, refrigerated glove box, cruise control, rear electric windows, leather steering wheel and gear knob, front and rear armrests, new hangers and fixing rings in boot, boot storage compartments and height-adjustable passenger seat.

Options include:

16- or 17-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, SEAT Media System 2.2 (including sat nav, colour touchscreen, DAB radio tuner and Bluetooth audio streaming), Hill Hold Control, Storage Pack (including front/rear armrests, hangers, nets and boot fixing rings), Winter Pack (including heated front seats, headlight washer system and heated front washer nozzles), Comfort Drive Pack (including cruise control and front fog lights with cornering), dark tinted rear windows and detachable tow bar.

Paris 2012: 2013 SEAT Leon pricing announced

SEAT has recently released the official price list of the 2013 Leon at the Paris Motor Show. The entry-level version will have a starting price of £15,670, while the top of the lineup model will cost £22,635.

Built upon the same VW MQB platform, the model is available in three trim levels: S, SE, FR. The car is 90 kg lighter and 52 mm shorter than its predecessor.

The base S is fitted with Brake Assist, colour touchscreen, halogen headlights, seven airbags, MP3 compatible CD, ESC, AirCon, Bluetooth and traction control.

Move up to SE, you get 16-inch alloy wheels, ambient interior lighting and cornering front fogs. There’s also leather steering wheel and gear knob, Cruise, Hill Hold and XDS electronic diff.

Lastly, the Leon FR comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights, butch bumpers, Sports Suspension, along with dual zone Climate, sports seats and SEAT Drive Profile.

Under the bonnet, five engines are available, including:

    A 1.2-liter TSI with 104 hp, returning 58 mpg (S and SE)
    A 1.4-liter TSI with 120 hp, returning 54 mpg (SE and FR)
    A 1.8-liter TSI with 178 hp, returning 47 mpg (FR)
    A 1.6-liter TDI with 89 hp, returning 74 mpg (S and SE)
    A 2.0-liter TDI with 181 hp, returning 66 mpg (FR)

All engines can be paired with 5-speed/6-speed manual transmissions or 6-speed/7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmissions.

The Spanish carmaker will receive orders from October 1st with first deliveries in March 2013.

2013 Seat Leon officially unveiled

Seat has officially unveiled the third generation Leon, ahead of its official debut at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.

According to the Spanish carmaker, the new hatchback features sportier bumpers, trapezoidal C-pillars and full LED headlamps. The model will use the MQB platform which allows it to weigh approximately 90 kg less than its predecessor.

Inside, the cabin comes with premium materials, a new infotainment system with Easy Connect operating system and Bluetooth/USB/AUX connectivity. There's also a five-inch touchscreen display and a boot holds 380-liter of luggage, around 40-liter more than the preceding model.

In terms of safety, the 2013 Leon can be equipped with a drowsiness detection system, advanced camera mounted behind the rear-view mirror and 'Heading Control' lane-keeping assistant.

Under the hood, five gasoline and four diesels engines will be available:
  • A 1.6-liter TDI with 89 hp as well as 104 hp and 250 Nm of torque
  • A 2.0-liter TDI with 148 hp and 320 Nm of torque as well as 181 hp and 380 Nm of torque
  • A 1.2-liter TSI with 85 hp and 104 hp
  • A 1.4-liter TSI with 120 hp
  • A 1.8-liter TSI with 178 hp
The engine will be mated to a five- and six-speed manual or a six- and seven-speed DSG transmission. 

The 2013 Seat Leon will go on sale in February 2013.

SEAT Ibiza facelift by JE Design

JE Design has recently released their tuning package for the Seat Ibiza.

According to the German tuner, the hatchback has been equipped with a new aerodynamic body kit which includes a front spoiler, a carbon-fiber rear apron attachment, headlamp covers, side skirts, a centrally positioned tailpipe and a roof edge spoiler for the 3- and 5-door versions.

In addition, Je Design also offers a lowering suspension kit that brings the car 35 mm closer to the road, as well as a set of 17- or 18-inch shadow silver or matt black Multispoke alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet, the engine units get ECU remaps:
  • The 1.2-liter TSI engine produces 138 hp and 230 Nm of torque from 103hp and 175 Nm.
  • The 1.6-liter TDI engine develops 123 hp and 295 Nm of torque from 103 hp and 250 Nm.
  • Performance upgrades for the 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TDI CR are under development that produce 141 hp and 148 hp respectively.

2013 Seat Toledo officially revealed

After being leaked in official images last week, Seat has officially revealed the 2013 Toledo.

According to the Spanish carmaker, the mid-size saloon is essentially a rebadged version of the recently unveiled Skoda Rapid. It measures 4,480 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,602 mm.

The standard safety package for all Toledos includes driver and passenger airbags, front side airbags and head/thorax airbags. The base model will come with central locking, a two piece folding rear bench and electric windows.

Under the hood, four engines are available:
  • a 1.2-liter TSI producing 74 hp and CO2 emissions of 116 g/km
  • a 1.4-liter TSI developing 120 hp
  • a 1.6-liter TDI with 104 hp and CO2 emissions of 104 g/km
  • During 2013, a 89 hp TDI variant wll be added to the range
The all-new Seat Toedo will be launched in Spain and Portugal in mid-November, followed by UK in early 2013.

The first official photos of the 2013 Seat Toledo have recently leaked to the web, ahead of its launch at the Paris Motor Show next September.

Not much has changed compared to the near-production concept revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show back in March. The Spanish sedan only receives some minor changes such as a honeycomb grille, large alloy wheels and flat bottom steering wheel with more conventional pieces.

The Toledo is expected to measure about 176-inch long, making it slightly shorter than the European-spec Volkswagen Jetta that it is based on.

Under the hood, engine options will reportedly include:
  • a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol with outputs of 74 hp, 84 hp and 104 hp
  • a 1.4-liter TSI with 120 hp
  • a 1.6-liter TDI with outputs of 89 hp and 104 hp
All versions will be offered with both manual gearboxes and a seven-speed DGS dual-clutch transmission.

Seat @Mii special edition unveiled

Seat has recently announced plans to offer a new special edition of the Mii Style Chic, called the @Mii.

According to the Spanish carmaker, the model features an exclusive Night Blue exterior with white mirror caps, special badging and 14-inch alloy wheels in the Silva design.

Inside, the cabin comes with "candy white" trim, chrome accents, a special key cover design and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob. There's also a six speaker audio system and a 5-inch TFT display belonging to SEAT’s portable infotainment system with GPS navigation.

Motivation is provide by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with 75 hp, allowing the car to average 4.7-liter per 100 km (50 mpg US / 60.1 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 108 g/km.

The @Mii special edition will only be available for order online and pricing starts at €11,420.

Seat Mii launched in Germany

After being launched in the UK and in Italy earlier this month, the Seat Mii has continued to be launched in Germany for a starting price of just under €9,000.

Set to go on sale on May 12, the all-new Mii is actually €560 cheaper than the Skoda Citigo and €850 cheaper than the Volkswagen Up!. The model will come with standard features such as the Emergency Braking System (EBS) and four airbags.

In Germany, the entry-level version is powered by a three-cylinder petrol engine with 60 horsepower, allowing it to have a fuel consumption of 4.5-liter per 100 km, while CO2 emissions stop at 105 g/km.

SEAT has officially unveiled the Ibiza CUPRA concept at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show.

Described as an "every day" sports car, the hatchback is based on the VW Polo and is designed to preview the production model. It features a new front bumper with massive air intake, a new lower grille, bi-xenon headlights and triangular foglights. There's also a rear diffuser with a center-mounted exhaust system and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin comes with two-tone leather sport seats, a redesigned three-spoke sports steering wheel with the Cupra logo, a new climate control display, unique instrumentation, a removable infotainment system with a five-inch display and gloss black trim.

Under the hood, the concept is powered by a super- and turbocharged 1.4-liter TSI engine with 178 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission and an XDS electronically locking differential, which drive the front wheels.

According to the Spanish carmaker, the production version of the Ibiza CUPRA concept will go on sale in Europe later this year.
