Jaguar Land Rover to build cars in China


According to China Business Review, Jaguar Land Rover has decided to set up a joint venture with Chery and the two companies are already seeking approval from the Chinese government.

Del Sehmar, a spokesman for Jaguar Land Rover India, said "We have previously said that we would like to manufacture our vehicles in China for Chinese customers and this remains our ambition".

Meanwhile, representatives of both companies denied commenting on the matter, but if the deal is adopted, JLR's Chinese plant is expected to manufacture 40,000 units per year and all of which will be sold in the local market.

Chery Riich G6 officially launched


According to auto.sohu.com, Chery's new flagship car, the Riich G6 has official debuted yesterday.

The G6 is built on the same platform as the company's Eastar Cross and G5 models. The sedan will be equipped by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, along with a 5-speed automatic transmission, reached a top speed of 195 km/h.

On the exterior, the G6 comes with Xenon headlights, daytime running lights and LED rear lights. On the interior, the G6 also is equipped with a 5.1 surround sound stereo system and GPS navigation system.

The G6 will be available in three versions, with prices from 189,800 to 259,800 yuan ($29,585-$40,496). The car will compete with rivals such as the FAW-VW Magotan, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Teana.

Chery Will Build Plant in Philippines


In an interview over the phone, Director of marketing and business of Chery Automobile Ltd. branch in the Philippines, Raymond Tribdino said that this branch is planning to build a factory in the country in next three years. This plan of Chery Automobile Ltd. to toward the market use right-hand drive in Southeast Asia.

He also said that the company also plans to produce passenger cars and small cars to the Philippines market. Not only that, this branch also wants to sell affordable electric vehicles to the Philippines market in particular and ASEAN market in general.

Chery Riich M1 EV launched

One of the leading automobile manufacturers in China, Chery Motors, has officially entered the automobile market run entirely by electricity, with the launch of the Riich M1 EV model.


Chery has introduced many concept vehicles run entirely on electric (EV), such as the EV Riich M1, S18, Tiggo 3 and the QQ EV, but come on 5/11 will be officially unveiled the Riich M1 EV (actual production version).

However, the Riich M1 EV was introduced with a high price - from 149,900 yuan, as follows:

- M1-EV 1 to 149,900 yuan ($22,500)

- M1-EV 2 to 169,800 yuan ($25,500)

- M1-EV 3 to 189,800 yuan ($28,500)

- M1-EV 4 to 209,800 yuan ($31,500)

- M1-EV 5 to 229,800 yuan ($34,500)

However, the Chinese government has decided to support development this model by supporting 60,000 yuan ($9,000) for car buyers.

The Riich M1 EV is equipped by an electric motor with 54 hp (40kW), using energy from the batteries 60AH. The car capable of reaching speeds up to 120 km/h and 150 km distance run after each full battery charge.

Can charging batteries for the car with 220V power supply common. Fast charging time is less than 30 minutes to 80% battery. It takes 6-8 hours to fully charge the battery - quite a long time compared with only 2.5 hours of the car i-MiEV such as the promise of Mitsubishi.

Chery equip for the Riich M1-EV: air bags, battery explosion prevention system, antilock brake system and vehicle system electronic stability (ESP). The car is also equipped with regenerative braking energy.

Four versions: M1-EV1, 2,3,4 are completely electric vehicle, but the M1-EV5 version uses add a small gasoline engine to help charge the battery while driving, increasing the distance of the car run after every on a fully charged battery up 300 km.

Chery to recall 3200 Riich X1 cars

On 08/09, Car brand of China, Chery announced recall Riich X1 model for design errors tires, causing danger to the safety of the user.


According to a notice posted on the website of the General Investigation Monitoring and Quality Inspection of China (AQSIQ), Chery will recall 3200 unit the Riich X1 is equipped with 185/65R15 CHAMPIR0128 tires manufactured from December 1, 2009 to January 12, 2010.

Consequences of design errors is abnormal friction between the tires front and lever bracket every when braking.
