Fiat Viaggio revealed in Beijing

After leaked not long ago, the all-new Fiat Viaggio has recently been unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.

Based on the Dodge Dart platform, the model is 4,679 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,708 mm. It will go on sale as the Fei Xiang in China, while the Italian carmaker has not yet confirmed if this car will be offered outside the Chinese market or not.

Under the hood, the Viaggio will be available with a range of turbo engines including a 120-hp 1.4 liter T-Jet and a 150-hp T-Jet. The transmission choices will include a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic.

2013 Volkswagen Lavida presented in Beijing

The German carmaker Volkswagen has unveiled the 2013 Lavida at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show in China.

Inspired from the North American Passat, the model is actually a compact-size sedan and features an uninspired design with familiar front and rear fascias. It also comes with standard features like anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control and front airbags.

Under the hood, three different engines will be available, including a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a 1.6-liter four-pot and a 1.4-liter turbocharged TSI engine with 140 hp. The power is transferred to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.

Chrysler 300 Ruyi concept unveiled in Beijing

To celebrate the brand's return to China, Chrysler has recently introduced the 300 Ruyi concept at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.

Based on the 300C, the model features a Maximum Steel exterior with dark chrome accents, a bespoke grille with dark chrome throats, tinted windows, a ruyi Chinese character badge on the boot lid and a fresh set of 22-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin comes with leather / suede seats, brushed patterned trim in the center console and black chrome accents.

Under the hood, the concept is powered by a  3.6-liter V6 engine with 292 hp (218 kW / 296 PS) and 353 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Yundong Shuangqing hybrid concept revealed

Toyota Yundong Shuangqing hybrid concept

Toyota has recently unveiled the Yundong Shuangqing hybrid concept at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.

Built exclusively for the Chinese market, the concept is a sharply styled four-door sedan and will preview a production vehicle that would use a locally produced hybrid system. The sedan's hybrid system was primarily developed at the Toyota R&D Center in Changshu, China.

At a press conference during the show, Toyota President Akio Toyoda said "We would like to put smiles on the faces of our Chinese customers with hybrid technology. I want the people of China to be able to experience the beauty of hybrid technology through a hybrid car born in China."

Honda Concept S unveiled in Beijing

Honda has unveiled the Concept S, which is described as a “global concept model of a new-value passenger mover”, at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.

According to the Japanese carmaker, the 'S' stands for "Stylish," "Smart" and "Surprise". It is motivated by an unspecified hybrid powertrain and features a spacious cabin, but the Japanese carmaker didn’t provide passenger capacity.

The Concept S previews a new MPV and previews another production model destined for the Chinese market through its Dongfeng Honda Automobile joint venture next year. Following its launch, the model is expected to inspire a new global model, possibly the next-gen FR-V (not sold in Australia).

The Honda Concept S will begin production next year.

Jeep Wrangler Dragon concept unveiled

Jeep Wrangler Dragon concept

Jeep has officially unveiled the Jeep Wrangler Dragon concept at the Beijing Motor Show.

Developed in order to celebrate the brand’s return to China, the model has a black exterior with bronze and gold trim details, dragon graphics, unique lighting units, exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 35-inch off-road tires and Jeep badging front and rear.

Inside, the cabin comes with two-tone seats, dragon-embroidered headrests, gloss black accents and gold-colored trim.

Power comes from a new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with 284 hp and 347 Nm of torque.

Aston Martin Dragon 88 special editions unveiled at Beijing

Aston Martin Dragon 88 special edition

Aston Martin has just unveiled the Dragon 88 special editions at the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.

Built to celebrate the Year of the Dragon, the models embrace the "mystical qualities of the dragon" which are "synonymous with power, strength and good luck."

According to the British carmaker, the cars will be offered in three different colors (Volcano Red, Amethyst Red, and Champagne Gold) and come with a 24-carat gold badge on the hood, 10-spoke dragon edition alloy wheels and special black brake calipers. Other highlights include dragon-embroidered headrests, gold inlays and unique interior trim.

Customers will have a choice of three models - the DBS Volante, Virage coupe and the V8 Vantage S coupe. Only 88 units will be produced specifically for China.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Wei Long 2012 revealed

Bugatti has just released the one-off Veyron Grand Sport Wei Long 2012 at the Beijing Motor Show.

Built to pay tribute to the year of the dragon, the special model was developed together with Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur Berlin who helped to create the Grand Sport L'Or Blanc. The car features porcelain accents on the body, wheels, fuel filler cap and center stack. The cabin comes with red leather upholstery, embroidered headrests with the Chinese “Dragon” character, handcrafted silk floor mats and a center piece with a white porcelain dragon relief sculpture.

Under the hood, the supercar is powered by a 7.9-liter W16 engine with 1,200 hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque. This allows it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 255 mph.

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Wei Long has a starting price of €1.58 ($2.07 / £1.29) million.
